Paid-To-Click, or more simply PTC, is way to make some cash online, without any investment at all, and little time. Simply put, there are sites that pay you to click on ads and watch them for some time, usually 30 seconds. This may usually never give you as much money as other online ventures would - but it is indeed an extra bit of cash, especially if you are a member of quite a number of PTCs and have some referrals.
Why would sites pay you to watch ads?
With the millions of sites there are out there on the web, it is quite difficult for any webmaster to get their site known to a lot of people. Traditional advertising options - like banners, text ads, etc. - just doesn’t click anymore. Most webmasters are quickly realising that unless there is some incentive for us (the reader) to view the webpage, and some time to actually comprehend it, they might click away.
There, Paid-To-Click sites connect the readers to the advertisers.






How it works


Basically, advertisers pay these PTC websites to deliver a particular amount of views for a particular time. PTC websites, in turn, show these ads to us. You are required to view these ads for a certain time, to get a portion of the amount the advertiser paid the PTC website. Most of these websites have a minimum payout (usually $10), upon reaching which you can withdraw it to an online payment processor of your choice, like Paypal.
The way in which PTC sites work, it could be made profitable to everyone - the advertiser, the site owner, and ourselves.
OK…how much could you earn?
Usually, most PTC websites pay you upto $0.01 per click. There are many sites that pay less, and some sites that pay more, but in my personal opinion, sites that are in the “safe” zone are the ones that can be reliable. (By “safe”, I mean that these websites might be able to promptly pay its users and make a profit as well.)
As you might have guessed, $0.01 isn’t really much, unless you are doing it just for fun, and not looking for payment for a long time. For that, referrals come to your help, but that is explained in Part 2, which will follow soon.

Referrals


If you were around with other Get-Paid-To programs, you probably know what it is. So, skip to the next section.
For others, who do not know, here is just a quick explanation : Most Get-Paid-To websites, such as PTCs, PTRs and others provide you a “referral” link when you join. New members who are looking to join the site can also join through someone’s referral link. If they do, they are your “referral”, and you are their “referrer”. This typically means that the site will pay you some sort of bonus for referring people to their site, and/or a certain percentage of their earnings, as they make money with that site. Please note that the money the site pays you is a bonus, and not a portion out of their earnings.
Referrals in Paid-To-Click sites
If you are looking to make good money in PTC sites, and lots of it, you need referrals.
Unlike other type of GPT sites, where you could make money without referrals, in PTC sites, you won’t get anywhere without them. Even if you might get 10 ads consistently in a PTC, it might take you 100 days to make the payout of $10.00 without any referrals at all. That means around 3.3 months. But, what if you have referrals that click the same as you, i.e., 10 ads per day? Let’s see :
With 1 referral, you will make payout in 50 days.
With 2 referrals, you will hit payout in 33 days.
With 3 referrals, it becomes 25 days.
With 4 referrals, it becomes 20 days.
With 5 referrals, it becomes 17 days.
Can you now see how referrals could be profitable? This works out only because almost all of the PTC websites provide you 100% referral bonus, i.e., for each $0.01 that they earn, you get $0.01 as a bonus, too. People who consistently make good amounts with PTC sites could vouch that they make this only with the help of their referrals.

Now you’ve discovered what PTCs are, how they can be a good method of income online, and now you’ve decided that you are going to try the waters of the PTC industry.
What to do now?
First of all, you have to open a Paypal account. Paypal is an online payment processor that is used by many Get-Paid-To websites, including PTCs. From my knowledge, most PTCs accept unverified Paypal accounts. A verified Paypal account is an account which has been either linked to a bank account or a credit card. The benefit of adding a bank account is that you can deposit and take money from your bank account through Paypal.
What to do next?
Now you need some good sites to join. There are several, and unless you’ve got lots of time (I am talking about if you join 10-15 sites), and you are prepared to trust new and coming sites, it is better to join a select few, big ones. Here, I suggest some of the big ones (I will go to each of them in detail later) :-
